troubleshooting your pump it's not the
most exciting topic but a necessary one
thank you for joining us on taking this
important step to ensure you're
receiving the best results from your
spectroelectric breast pump
let's get started as always we will
start off by mentioning that the s1 and
the s2 function exactly the same with
the exception of the rechargeable
feature on the s1 model
for demonstration purposes we're going
to troubleshoot the s1 pump today
if your pump is not turning on you'll
want to first check your power adapter
you can do this by removing
the prong piece from the power adapter
and the cord from the pump
next you'll want to push the power
adapter all the way down until you hear
a click
then you will want to try re-plugging in
your pump
now make sure the outlet on the wall is
working and re-plug it in the wall
for your s2 pump you'll want to hold the
power button down for 30 seconds
for your s1 pump you'll want to charge
it for 4 hours
and then hold down the power button for
30 seconds releasing and seeing if your
pump turns on
after troubleshooting your power cord if
your pump still does not turn on
please submit a warranty claim through
our website under the warranty
tab if your pump does turn on but has no
suction you will want to make sure that
your tubes are completely attached to
the ports
for single pumping the air cap is
completely covering the second hole
or double pumping that both tubes are
securely pressed onto the ports
you will then want to make sure your
backflow protectors are assembled
correctly
you will want to make sure there are no
tears in the valve membranes
you will want to make sure that the
valves are pressed over the smaller
casings
creating a tight seal and that both
casings are pressed firmly together
you will want to make sure that your
valves are properly placed on the bottom
of the flange
this will create suction if you neglect
any of these steps you may experience
a lack of suction you will also want to
make sure that there are no holes
in any of the air tubes creating a loss
of suction
once you've thoroughly inspected your
tubing backflow protectors
and valves and have confirmed that they
are properly assembled
retry turning on your pump to see if you
now have suction
for issues involving low suction you'll
also want to try increasing your vacuum
level
if you are having trouble with your
massage mode being set at 70
please note that it is programmed at a
fixed level and cannot be adjusted
only in expression mode should your pump
be able to change cycles
if you are experiencing pain while
pumping check your breast shield size to
make sure that your nipples are not
rubbing on the edge of the shield
it is also important to check the
suction level ensuring it's not too high
you can try decreasing the suction
strength pumping properly you should not
experience pain while pumping
if you experience ongoing pain or
discomfort please contact your local
healthcare provider or
ibclc for further support thank you for
watching and as always
we're here to support you
