How To FIX Location / GPS Not Working On iPhone! (2021)

welcome back everyone you may be
experiencing some issues with your
location services
on your iphone now this can happen for a
couple of different reasons
but i go ahead and but i'll go ahead and
explain pretty much the most common ways
to go and fix this
so the first group of things i'm going
to tell you is if there's not a hardware
issue on your device or something super
crazy
then pretty much you may just have it
disallowed your location services being
on
or your location services being on for
those specific apps
so what this basically looks like is
i'll go ahead and kind of go into my
other app for example so i'll just go
into settings
what you want to do is you want to make
sure that your location services
are even on in the first place so what
you want to do is you want to go into
your settings app you want to scroll
down until you get into privacy
and then right up top here you'll see
this little toggle that says location
services so what you want to do is you
want to go and click on location
services right there
and you'll pretty much get into this
little area and all you want to do is
make sure this toggle is
on as you can see the location services
toggle if this is off
your iphone will not be able to get any
gps location for your device
so you want to make sure location
services is on and then you'll pretty
much be good to go that is the number
one thing you need to do
in order to actually fix this thing if
your snapchat filters aren't working if
your instagram filters aren't working
if for some reason google maps or apple
maps aren't working it's
probably because of this you want to
make sure this is enabled now this is
enabled and you're still not
experiencing you know those filters
coming on your location being accurate
or whatever
well you'll also probably want to make
sure that those apps that you sign into
also have your locations enabled so in
this case you want to go and hop out of
here
you want to scroll into your apps down
here and we'll go ahead and use like
snapchat as an example so we'll go into
snapchat
and sometimes depending on if you
actually use them you'll get a little
location toggle on them
so snapchat didn't really need it let's
go on to instagram
and instagram doesn't really use my
location either but pretty much you just
want to go through any of these apps
that you have
and basically enable your location
within them as you can see
none of these apps really required my
location which is strange because
typically some of them do
but i don't really use this phone that
often so all you want to do is make sure
your location is turned on for whichever
apps that you use
and then you should be good to go this
is typically the number one thing you
can do that i've seen time and time
again
to actually go ahead and you know fix
your location services
and after this you should be good to go
and hopefully you don't see any other
problems but
it's definitely but things like this but
it's usually not this easy of a fix
so what you want to do after this if
your location services
still are not working you want to go
ahead and update your iphone so this is
pretty much the secondary
things that you can do if the first ways
don't work so you want to make your way
over to your settings apps just like
this
you want to scroll up until you get into
this little panel
you're going to get into general which
is right here you want to click software
update which is right there
and all you want to do is update your
iphone to the most recent version of
software that it supports
again if you're on a very very outdated
version of software
obviously it's you're probably going to
run into problems anyway so if you have
on
so if you have a software update that's
available i would highly recommend
updating your iphone to the most recent
version of software that it supports
and pretty much moving on from there as
i mentioned before this is like the
number one thing you can do
to actually fix your specific issue
literally just by updating your iphone
if that still doesn't work or if you
don't have an update available
i would recommend restarting your device
so holding the volume up a power button
or just the power button on some iphones
and just sliding off to you know power
off and then powering it back on
and seeing if that works if that still
doesn't work i would also recommend
going through
and making sure you're in a location
that even supports location services
almost every single where in the world
it supports location services but if
you're in the middle of nowhere
if you're like in the middle of a wooded
area or in the middle of a desert there
can be
issues where sometimes it may not work
perfectly so i would recommend checking
your location maybe checking another
phone
and seeing if the location services work
on there if it works on there and it
doesn't work on your phone
then it may be a specific phone problem
but if you notice that it doesn't really
work on any other phone or any other
android or ios device that you're
testing it on
then it may mean that your specific
device isn't really just the main one
that has an issue maybe it's your
location that's the problem so you may
have to go to a different location
to actually get a signal and all that
stuff now ultimately if you tested
everything throughout and it's still not
working
you may have a hardware defect on your
iphone itself so your gps toggle
whatever it is inside
may not actually be working so you may
actually have to either send it into
apple tab and fix it
or either contact apple support and have
them kind of troubleshoot it with you so
that's really pretty much it if you guys
