my channel and today I'm here with
little Aspen a sweet snasser
and we're going to talk to you about how
to treat vomiting at home first I want
to address some reasons why your dog
might be vomiting of course if you have
dogs like Aspen that are schnauzers they
naturally have sensitive stomachs same
goes for like French cheese or pugs or
any of the smushed face breeds they have
sensitive stomachs too just from their
diet alone but the most common things
are if you feed them people food or
switch their diet or give them a new
treat these are simple things that can
cause your dog to vomit at home and they
make you worried and without going to
the vet
I'm going to give you one medication
that you could buy at a Walgreens or CVS
in your town the moment you've all been
waiting for what is this medication that
you can buy from over-the-counter
not from your veterinarian and it's
called pepcid or there's another form
that says heartburn relief it's the
exact same ingredient the scientific
name is called famotidine and this is an
antacid that is used to help settle your
dog's stomach to stop the vomiting at
home let's see what these pills look
like they're little round circle pills
like normal you're most likely gonna
have to cut them if you don't have the
right dose and you'll call your vet to
get the dose for it
it's a oral pill so you put it in their
food or some peanut butter or something
they like so they'll eat it and it
reduces acid so that it settles their
stomach or any gas to prevent vomiting
normally this has given about four days
once a day or twice a day if it's a
split dose and if your dog is still
vomiting after four days or if they're
violently vomiting after one day of
giving this definitely call your
veterinarian and make an appointment
with them to check out your dog
